Sera Tolgay is an urban designer and planner based in New York City. She founded Public Design Collaborative as an interdisciplinary practice focused on leveraging design in the planning process. Originally from Istanbul, she is working as an urban designer at WSP and was previously at the New York City Department of City Planning.

Sera also co-founded muhit, an award-winning open data and public interest design non-profit in Istanbul and runs the platform critical cartography that uses data, design and mapping to uncover untold stories about cities. She received a dual master’s degrees in Master of City Planning and Master of Science in Architecture from MIT.
